In the first leg matches in the quarter-finals of the EuroLeague the reigning title-holders from Pro Recco, Italy achieved a big advantage when the team from the Genoa region gained an 11-8 away victory against Hungary's champion Teva-Vasas "Plaket" Budapest. Greece current top club Olympiakos Piraeus achieved a precious advantage as well, beating Croatian champion HAVK Mladost Zagreb by three goals as well 8-5.

In his home town Budapest, Hungary´s 37-year-old Olympic gold medallist Tibor Benedek scored three goals for Recco, the same number as Serbian international Vanja Udovicic. Recordings of the matches in Piraeus and Budapest will be shown on Thursday on “Eurosport 2” again. The return matches will be held 22 April. Here two more matches will be shown live on “Eurosport 2”.
